He says, "As a boy, I had an inclination to do something unique and outstanding. One day, I just happened to read about a Chinese saint who grew his nails and thought I could do that to create a world record. Growing my nails has been a really traumatic experience, as I had to take the utmost care in nurturing their growth during the last 48 years. For as many years I have used my right hand for all my day-to-day chores and nobody can believe I have also had to forego a peaceful night's sleep. So it is against all the odds of daily life including reading, writing, cycling, walking, and so on, that I have successfully grown my nails."
